The problem
Every new supplier had to be checked against a global business database such as Dun & Bradstreet. Access was limited to senior team members, which made the step a bottleneck.
What we built
When a supplier is about to be onboarded, the automation searches the database with the supplier's key details, organises the results and inserts them into the workflow for the supplier management team to review.
Results
- 10–15 minutes per supplier down to under 2
- 30–40 hours saved each month
- Same checks applied to every supplier
